Getting Started

Getting Started

We understand that the process of finding the right support can be daunting and you may already have tried to get in touch with other practices and not gotten the help you were seeking.

This is why your very first step with us is to complete our Consultation Screening Form.

Our intention in creating this screening form is to get a sense of how we can support you and/or your family members from the start.

If our New Client Coordinator finds that we are either not the right for your needs or we do not have an available provider, we will do our best to get you connected to the right place.

During your free consultation call, you’ll have an opportunity to:

  • Share about your areas of concern - Why are you reaching out?

  • Identify any goals you have in mind - Are there ways you can imagine things feeling better day-to-day?

  • Note any details about what you might be looking for in a clinician and treatment - Have you had past experiences you want to either replicate or avoid? Are there certain types of adults you’ve noticed your child gravitates to?

  • Ask questions about anything else you might want to know more about.

  • Get matched to a therapist, learn about their background and their specific rates.

Once we decide to work together, you can schedule your intake immediately.

After your intake is scheduled, you’ll receive 2-3 emails from us:

  1. A Google Calendar invite for your telehealth intake appointment.

  2. An invitation from our Electronic Records System, Sessions Health. You’ll fill out your intake paperwork and payment information and will also have access to invoices, superbills (for out of network insurance reimbursement), scheduling and messaging with your Therapist.

  3. If you’re seeing your Therapist in our Frederick office, we’ll also send you detailed information on parking and getting to the office.

    • Observations are done discreetly with the therapist acting as a ‘classroom observer’.

  • Write-up:

    • Detailed description of your child’s behaviors, perceived experience and environment.

    • Recommendations for how your child can be best supported.

  • Feedback: 30 minutes.

    • Online via secure video-conferencing (telehealth)!

    • In-depth discussion of write-up and how to successfully collaborate with your child’s daycare providers or school staff.

  • School Connections: As needed.

    • At your request, additional time can be spent directly supporting your child’s daycare or school.
