Serving Maryland Clients

I am a licensed graduate professional counselor serving clients virtually in Maryland as well as in-person in North Bethesda, MD and working towards certification as a registered play therapist, under the supervision of Laura Morlok, LCPC, LPC, RPT-S.

During my internship right here at PTC, I worked with neurodivergent children and adults and have really enjoyed building relationships and supporting them through play-based approaches.

Before I entered the mental health field, I was always drawn to working with young children. I started babysitting when I was still a kid myself, and over the years I worked as a camp counselor and a PreK teacher. I was especially connected to kids who experienced the world differently. I found myself naturally tuning into the kids who needed a little more patience, a little more flexibility, and a lot of understanding.

Even before I had the training, I understood how important it was to meet kids where they are and to support their sense of autonomy. I learned how powerful it can be when a child feels truly seen and accepted. Those early experiences shaped how I approach my work today and are a big part of what led me to become a counselor.

What does my experience mean for you as my client?

My experience has shown me that there’s no one size fits all approach. Every child is different, and it’s really important to slow down, listen, and adjust to what each child and family needs. For families, that means working with someone who’s patient, flexible, and truly respects their child’s unique way of being themselves.

I understand how important play is in a child’s growth and healing, and I’m committed to supporting their autonomy and the way they naturally express themselves. My goal is to create a space where kids feel safe to explore and be themselves, whether that’s through play, movement, or just quiet moments. Connection is at the heart of what I do, and I work hard to build trust not only with the children but also with their families.

Outside of counseling, I can usually be found reading fantasy books or participating in whatever hobby has caught my attention lately (right now it's gardening!). I love spending time with my family and my cat as well as creating art in many different forms.

  • Why did you decide to be a therapist?

    • There are two main reasons I decided to become a therapist. First, I believe mental health care in early childhood is incredibly important but often overlooked. Supporting kids early can really make a lasting difference.

    • Second, I wanted to be the kind of therapist I needed when I was a child—someone who truly listens, understands, and offers support in a way that feels meaningful. That personal experience drives me to create a space where every child feels seen and valued.
